Since we work for several different entities as work comes available, during the time no work is in effect, can I claim unemployment benefits for those times?

You should be eligible for unemployment insurance as long as its not a "seasonal employment".
Please go ahead and speak to a representative from the Tennessee department of labor on 1-877-813-0950(toll-free) before considering the option of filing for benefits.
