My company is telling me they are going to fire me for Job abandonment because I cannot leave on a date they are requiring me to leave the country for.  They are telling me I will qualify for UI if they fire me for job abandonment.  Is this true?

You qualify for UI benefits if you are laid off due to no fault of your own and meet other basic eligibility requirements.
