Active Business Partner and Lost Salary from Job - UI Benefits

Question

Sam is working for ABC Inc as Computer Programmer on Monthly Salary basis since 2010. Also Sam is a Partner in XYZ LLC Business and receive K1 Income from XYZ.

XYZ business is Active and if Sam lost his Programmer job, is he eligible for unemployment benefits based in Texas laws.
ABC & XYZ are Texas Based Businesses.

I do not know Texas law.  Some states allow for sideline businesses with regard to unemployment.  You need to call the unemployment office.

If you increase your activities in the sideline business, you may have a problem in that it may appear as though you are becoming self employed.  Discuss with unemployment and look into how your type of partnership impacts how the unemployment office views your position in the company.
