Extensions to unemployment are determined by the rate of unemployment in the state in which you live. Whether you get a federal extension or state extension, I believe is determined by the state's unemployment fund - whether or not the state is in EB. When your current claim expires you will receive the appropriate application (EUC or EB). If you do not receive it within 10 days, at the most, of the end of your current claim contact the unemployment office. In the meantime, continue to file for benefits.
